I Truly Love You

. . Hits: 163

What does it mean – above all else?
The first? It does not think of self.
It sacrifices, and it gives.
It seeks to help another live,
And not just get by on small deeds;
Love wants to know, that they exceed!

It keeps forgiveness in the heart -
Despite the other person's part.
Love finds a way to mend, to heal;
To close the gap, so it's revealed.
It does not hate. Hate can't get in
To penetrate the joy within.

It's willing just to suffer long,
Effecting change, and righting wrong.
Courageously, love will protect.
It will provide, and won't neglect.
Love knows it cannot stand alone,
But leans on God, who's on the Throne.

It grows. It gives encouragement,
In times of judging, love repents!
It sees beyond what eyes behold,
To that which grace, God's grace enfolds.
True love, the soul itself, receives
When Christ comes in, and hearts believe!

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abides faith. hope, love; these three,
but the greatest of these is love.

Bible Gateway Verse of the Day

Philippians 2:5-8
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
